Guiding the Program and Shaping the Dialogue

The Board’s role is central to curating a program that reflects the latest advancements and best practices in performance-based facade design. They select keynote speakers, workshop leaders, and panelists from a global pool of innovators, ensuring a diverse and inclusive dialogue. Previous editions have featured founders of leading facade firms, technical directors, business development managers, researchers, and contributors to international standardization bodies.

For 2025, the Board has chosen the theme “Technology Meets Nature,” focusing on the integration of advanced technologies and natural elements in facade systems. The program will explore how artificial intelligence, automation, and material innovation can harmonize with bioclimatic principles to create resilient, sustainable, and beautiful building envelopes.

Fostering Collaboration and Industry Transformation

The Advisory Board also encourages interactive sessions, including seminars, workshops, and off-site activities, designed to foster collaboration and practical knowledge-sharing. New this year, three Façade Exposition Areas will showcase cutting-edge solutions and mockups, coinciding with the Venice Biennale of Architecture.

By setting the agenda and facilitating connections among participants, the Advisory Board ensures that PBFD 2025 is not just an event, but a catalyst for industry transformation. Their vision is to inspire the next generation of facade experts and to advance the role of performance-based design in shaping smarter, greener cities.
